Our Proud Baggies FC squad battled through the intense heat to make it to our second successive final in the GFSN Development Tournament on Saturday.

We narrowly missed out, losing on penalties in the final, but it was a huge effort from all of the squad to finish runners-up in what might end up being the hottest day of the year. 30 degree heat in direct sunshine in the middle of the day is not for the faint hearted.

An impressive group stage saw us top the Round Robin table and earn a bye to the Semi Finals, with an unbeaten record and 6/6 clean sheets.

Semi Final: Proud Baggies 0-0 Charlton Invicta (3-2 on Pens)
Final: Proud Baggies 0-0 Canal Street (2-3 on Pens)

Notably neither of the pre-tournament favourites of Charlton or Mersey made it to the final, falling to the two non-GFSN sides who ensured a first-time winner would claim the crown. Congratulations to winners Canal Street FC and thanks to Leicester Wildecats for hosting!
