Thank you, Kyle

West Bromwich Albion defender Kyle Bartley today announced his retirement from professional football, citing a knee injury sustained last season as the driving force behind the decision to hang up his boots.

Playing professionally since 18, the 34-year-old made 407 appearances through his career and scored 27 goals, with spells at clubs including Arsenal, Sheffield United, Rangers, Swansea City, Birmingham City, Leeds United, and most importantly a beautiful seven year spell with the Albion; where he made 232 of these appearances and scored 15 goals.

Damià Abella Pérez, first team statistical analyst, paid tribute to Kyle on Twitter:

All of us here at Proud Baggies wish Kyle all the best with the future. For more on his retirement, see the Albion website below, or scroll our selection of official WBA pictures and PB fan photos of Kyle Bartley in all his glory.
