PBFC join GFSN Development League

Proud Baggies are pleased to announce that PBFC are founding members of the newly-formed GFSN Development League and will be participating for the 2025/26 season.

The new league will feature Leicester Wildecats, Village Manchester, East End Phoenix, Solent Pride, London Titans, Birmingham Blaze, Canal Street, Mersey Marauders, and of course Proud Baggies FC.

Tom Hogan, Head of Football Operations for Proud Baggies, said: “We’re delighted to be founding members of the new GFSN Development League. We’ve had long-term ambitions to grow Proud Baggies FC ever since our launch back in January 2024, and being competitors in a league such as this is exactly in line with those aims.

“We’ve seen the team come on leaps and bounds in the last 18 months; we won the Nottingham Lions Football v Homophobia Development tournament back in February and came runners-up more recently in July’s GFSN Development Tournament. There’s still a lot more work to be done as players, as a team, and as an organisation, but this is a very important next step for us.”

Fans and supporters of Proud Baggies FC will recognise our city siblings Birmingham Blaze, as well as Canal Street who beats us on penalties in the GFSN Development Tournament final, and Mersey Marauders who we’ve played a handful of times now.

Our season kicks off at home with a Midlands derby versus Leicester Wildecats on Remembrance Sunday at 1pm. More information on the venue will be available closer to the fixture. Stay tuned!
