PB Committee convenes

The newly re-formed Proud Baggies committee met for the first time last night as our supporter’s group looks to share operational duties for the benefit of the organisation; utilising the knowledge and skills present in our members to help further our reach and capabilities as both a supporter’s group and an LGBTQ+ organisation.

Founder Piero Zizzi chaired the short inaugural meeting, which was also attended by:

  • Tom Hogan, Head of Football Operations

  • Liam Sheasby, Media Officer

  • Dan Twist, Media Officer, and

  • Shereen Johal, an advisor to the committee

Also on the committee but unable to attend were Olivia Houlston (Events & Community), Vixx Thompson (Trans Inclusion Officer), Sarah Kerton (Vice Chair), and Becky Marston (Fundraising Advisor).

Speaking about the new appointments, Piero said: “We’re delighted to be announcing our new committee who will help to shape the future of Proud Baggies & Proud Baggies FC.

“We want to continue to put our members first and ensure that all of our community are heard. This new team will bring fresh ideas and a more collaborative approach to how we operate as a supporters’ group.

“We’re looking to utilise the skillset we have within our membership and share the workload as we grow Proud Baggies & PBFC. Each individual brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to their roles and most of all enthusiasm and dedication to creating a safe, inclusive space at West Bromwich Albion.

“With Neil stepping away from his duties, we were left with a big void - we can’t thank him enough for his efforts over the past 8 years and the vital role he has played in our successes. I’m looking forward to working with this new team and excited for what’s ahead.”

The full committee and their roles can be seen on our
About Us page. All meetings will be minuted by the committee for transparency, so that our members are up to date with Proud Baggies activity and decisions. Members are encouraged to email info@proudbaggies.com or to speak to committee members to raise any questions or concerns that they would like addressing in the next meeting. Committee responses to these issues will be addressed in the documented minutes, and a more direct and detailed response will be emailed back.
