Her Game Too - Albion Women
It was West Bromwich Albion Women's turn to showcase the Her Game Too campaign ahead of their home game versus Burnley.
HGT rep Vicky Haddock and an assortment of Proud Baggies members were pitchside flag bearers prior to kick off, sharing pins and mini flags with fans of all ages to advocate for greater inclusion, consideration, and respect surrounding women's sport.
Following the Albion’s clutch 1-0 win away at Rugby Borough last week, manager Siobhan Hodgetts-Still made just the one change coming into this tough tie against promotion-chasing Burnley. Albion were under the cosh for large parts of the first half but had their own chances on the break, but to no avail. The second half saw more of the same pressure from the Clarets and eventually the deadlock was broken in the 64th minute by Burnley’s Naomi Hartley.
West Brom fought to get back into the game and looked brighter as the game went on, with sub Ashlee Brown a notable boost to the side, but Burnley took their chances better and scored a second in the 90th minute through Aimee Kelly, and a third in the 92nd minute was added by Brenna McPartlan.
