Birmingham Pride 2025

Proud Baggies took part in this year’s Birmingham Pride parade, in what might be the last such march through the city centre due to development works at Smithfields between the Gay Quarter and Digbeth.

The event saw thousands of parade participants gather over at Centenary Square by Birmingham Library, where speakers including Peter Tatchell, Eva Echo, and the Deputy Lord Mayor Councillor Ken Wood addressed the crowds before the midday march.

The route saw organisations walk from Centenary Square down part of Lyon Queensway, on to Paradise Street and past the steps of Victoria Square, through the shade of New Street, left up the High Street past Big Primark, right down Carrs Lane, right onto the B4100, before taking the Swan Passage tunnel onto the Smallbrook Queensway for the final downhill before reaching Hurst Street and the start of the Quarter - finishing outside the Hippodrome.

Proud Baggies founder Piero Zizzi said: “We want to say a huge thank you to all of our Proud Baggies members, Proud Baggies FC players, family and friends who joined us in the parade this year and to all the Albion fans who cheered us on in the crowd!

“Thanks to all those that made it happen; our team & volunteers, mascots Olivia & Gordon and West Bromwich Albion, and a special thank you to Liam as always for capturing all the moments and memories on camera.

“We’re already planning for next year - see you there!”
