PB Player of the Season 2020/21
England international and West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has won this season’s Proud Baggies Player of the Season award.
It might have been a fleeting return to the top flight for the Albion, but Johnstone managed 37 appearances in his first Premier League term; a campaign which saw him earning high praise from players, pundits, and fans alike.
As a result of his remarkable season, Sam was named our Player of the Season, Stanley Black & Decker Players’ Player of the Year by his teammates, and Ideal Heating Supporters’ Player of the Year by Baggies fans in a popular vote.
In addition to these three huge awards, Sam has also been recognised by The Albion Foundation for his work off the pitch by winning the PFA Community Champion Award.
Speaking to the WBA website, Sam said: “I’m delighted and very proud to be given these awards. It means so much when it comes from your squad, the fans and of course our fantastic Foundation.
“The last year has been a big learning curve for me, going up against some of the best players in the world, and to receive recognition at the end of it is a big boost.”
