This season’s Proud Baggies Player of the Season award goes to Matheus Pereira!

The Brazilian attacker, on loan from Sporting (Lisbon) CP in Portugal, managed eight goals in 42 appearances for the Albion. His performances saw him dominate our fan vote, with 51% of all votes cast going in his favour. Similarly, Matheus won the official WBA Supporters’ Player of the Season award after collecting 65% of the votes there too.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we couldn’t do our customary award presentation at The Hawthorns, but the good news is that Pereira’s loan deal includes an obligation to buy, so we’ll be seeing his impact once again next season!
