charity fundraiser? completed it mate

Sarah Robinson, better known to friends as Robbo, has completed her charity fundraiser on behalf of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, having set a target of five games unbeaten for the Albion and surprisingly, we did it!

Following in the footsteps of beleagured Manchester United fan Frank Ilett, Robbo decided to undertake a similar challenge back in February for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) charity; an organisation she has a strong connection with following her own battle with cancer and subsequent chemotherapy.

Her goal? To grow out her hair until West Bromwich Albion go five games undefeated; an achievement not seen since October 2024 and one that’s quite risky what with the Albion in contention for relegation. Except maybe it was a good luck charm. Following the 2-1 away defeat to Oxford United, the Baggies drew with Sheffield United and Southampton, before putting three past 10-man Hull, nicking a 1-0 away win at Bristol City, and drawing 2-2 at home to Wrexham last Friday.

Ahead of that game, Robbo was interviewed by the Express & Star newspaper and talked about her experience battling cancer, as well as the tumultuous form of West Bromwich Albion and her fundraising goals. You can see her thank you video above, taken from Instagram, and you can still donate to Sarah’s campaign on JustGiving if you haven’t already, with her total just shy of the £1,500 goal set out in February!
