CHAMPIONS!
THEY DID IT! West Bromwich Albion Women won the Birmingham County FA Challenge Cup final at the Poundland Bescot Stadium in Walsall, beating league rivals Rugby Borough 6-2.
Goals from Ali Miller, Phoebe Warner, and Rhianne Oakley in the first half gave the Albion a commanding lead before Rugby pulled one back. Oakley added a second after the break to extend the lead, but Rugby showed some signs of life and got their second of the game. A late free kick from Marli Rhodes-Andrews, and a later penalty conversion from Simran Jhamat sealed an infamous Albion win and the side’s first silverware since winning the cup back in 2017 under their former name Sporting Club Albion Ladies.
Proud Baggies members attended to cheer the team on and witness their accomplishment, and you can see the gang - as well as match photos - down below.
